Direct Insurance employee training and support

Tanner produced a series of branded materials for Direct Insurance using a content strategy approach.

Tanner
  • Analyzed and determined audience needs in various locations and times;
  • Developed formats and products for various audiences based on need;
  • Produced products that fit audience needs;
  • Reused and modified content to increase efficiency and savings.

Result: consistent product development over time that can be accomplished one piece at a time, from standards and sources that we establish at the beginning
Coeur website rewrite

Tanner worked with Coeur's director of marketing to understand  the medical device manufacturer’s three distinct business lines and customers.

Tanner
  • developed an umbrella concept that unified all the lines under the position “The New Standard”;
  • unified the messages about each business line by creating positioning statements for each;
  • created unity in the outward-facing message by connecting the various audiences to the message.

The result was an award winning website that repositioned the company's premier product while unifying all product lines.
Tractor Supply Company's training manual consolidation

Tanner used content management and single sourcing to consolidate and produce Tractor Supply Company’s library of training manuals.

Tanner
  • inventoried and classified the training material;
  • designed a new library format and production routine for the content;
  • applied descriptive names to manuals;
  • tracked the movement and status of each;
  • identified and reduced duplication;
  • applied revisions to manuals, as needed;
  • implemented single sourcing;
  • migrated the training material.

The result was increased consistency, easier usage for employees, and assurance to all audiences that they are looking at the most recent version.
Royal Oak Rewards website design

Tanner worked with Royal Oak Rewards’ principles to develop a website for a new loyalty program.

Tanner
  • conceptualized the website in preparation for another vendor to create the wireframe;
  • mapped the multiple content elements the principles wanted to deliver;
  • captured product description, positioning, ideas about links, and functional requirements;
  • presented the website concept as a multi-page document to the site developers who used it for implementation in multiple versions with different branding;
  • managed the process of acquiring information, reconciling it from two outside vendors,  and moving it to the next stage.
Hunter Fan Company's installation manuals

Tanner applied content management principles to Hunter Fan Company’s installation manual development. To develop and track installation manuals Tanner created an advanced spreadsheet describing content for reuse in over 500 manuals.

Tanner
  • identified 11 standard sections for manuals;
  • developed a tracking system for variations among versions;
  • created a master document that enabled outsourcing manual development and insulated the client from delays caused by turnover;
  • managed variations due to text and image differences;
  • matched Hunter’s CAD drawings with standard manual sections;
  • paired discreet troubleshooting sections to manuals.

The outcome was quicker production, increased consistency, lower translation costs, and faster time to market.
