Tanner Corporate Services is a technical communications firm. For more than 35 years we have created policies, procedures, training, and technical product literature for companies ranging from Fortune 500s to small start-ups. Our specialty for the last 10 years is translating procedures from print-based to website delivery for organizations with 500-5,000 employees. 


Our work is precise, dynamic, and technology-based. Our team energetically solves problems in a supportive and collaborative environment. History

In 1983, at the dawn of the desktop computer age, Beth Tanner founded Tanner Corporate Services to help companies transition from manual to tech-assisted processes. No one else in the local marketplace was helping bridge this gap.


Over the subsequent 30 years, electronic tools developed and expanded exponentially, but the basic need to think clearly about organizational knowledge and capture and distribute that knowledge remained constant.

Tanner’s team – a core group of technical writers and designers augmented by technology and industry-specific experts – have worked with a wide variety of clients in their quest for clarity and accessibility of their organizational knowledge.


Over the years, Tanner has worked with hundreds of clients – from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. Clients across a wide range of industries have one thing in common – they need to capture, organize and share their knowledge and expertise within their organization and with their customers, but doing so is not their core business. It’s ours.

In 2019, Shelley Bates, who joined the company in 2007, purchased Tanner Corporate Services, Inc., and became President of the company.

Shelley Bates, owner and President of Tanner Corporate Services, brings a unique combination of tech savvy, technical writing experience in highly regulated industries, and an artistic eye displayed in her graphic design background. She loves to explore new technology and apply creative tech solutions to everyday business challenges. She brings a warmth to client relationships evident in her passion for problem-solving and her desire to be of service. She treats clients with genuine interest in their goals and challenges and fully commits to helping them as long-term customers and very often friends.
